VIDEO PLAYER NEW MANUAL[edit | edit source]

Video Player

General info[edit | edit source]

Video Player is the solution if you want to trigger video clips from a USB flash drive in order to lead players through the story. It connects to a Universal puzzle controller, adding individual videos to every sensor and the WIN state. Now, with a background video option!

Step 1[edit | edit source]

First, prepare your MP4 files. Name them with a number (1-14.mp4) and replace the preset video files on the included USB stick. The “254.mp4” file is for the WIN video (when the puzzle is solved). (“0.mp4” is not needed).

Step 2[edit | edit source]

When you have all the videos uploaded, plug the USB drive into the Video Player. Then, connect the Video Player to the Universal puzzle controller with an Ethernet cable (to any Universal’s port).

Step 3[edit | edit source]

Connect the Video Player to a screen with an HDMI cable.

Step 4[edit | edit source]

Turn on the screen and choose the right source.

Step 5[edit | edit source]

Connect power supplies to the Universal puzzle controller and the Video Player. Wait for the Video Player to boot (can take up to 60 seconds). When you’ll see the “Hello” video, it’s ready.

STOPPING THE VIDEO[edit | edit source]

Pressing the red button on the Video Player will end the currently played video immediately.

How the videos work:[edit | edit source]

  • Trigger a sensor connected to the Universal puzzle controller to play the corresponding video file.
  • Triggering the same sensor again will not interrupt the video but you will be able to play it again once it ends.
  • Triggering any other sensor will interrupt the video by playing the video assigned to this sensor.

You can still program a puzzle on the Universal puzzle controller and it will work as always, just with the videos playing when sensors are triggered and when the puzzle is solved.

Video Player - video requirements:[edit | edit source]

FOR *.MP4 FILES TO BE PLAYED CORRECTLY, ADAPT YOUR VIDEO PROPERTIES AS FOLLOWS:

ASPECT RATIO: 16:9 OR 4:3

BITRATE VIDEO: 2400

BITRATE AUDIO: 256

IF THE ASPECT RATIO OF A VIDEO IS DIFFERENT THAN THE ABOVE, THE VIDEO SHOULD BE SCALED TO 720p
